I’m oftentimes asked which financial products I use and/or recommend, so here are some of my favorite tools.
Marcus by Goldman Sachs– This is my go-to for High-Yield Savings accounts. They have no fees or minimums, are FDIC insured and currently offer a 4.4% APY.
M1 Finance– This app is user friendly and shows your investments in form of a pie which is visually appealing and easy to understand. Each investment is a piece of your pie and you can buy/sell pieces or the whole pie itself.
Fundrise– I was always interested in rental properties until coming across this platform which allows you to enter the real estate market via the purchase of REITS (Real Estate Investment Trusts). It’s a way of owning small shares of big investment projects. This has allowed me to enter into real estate much sooner than planned. You can start investing with Fundrise for as little as $10. Earn $25-100 by clicking here when signing up.
Kiva– Giving back is something that I’ve always loved doing and I truly don’t believe there’s a better way than through Kiva. Instead of donating money once, with Kiva, you fund micro loans which are pooled together with others funding the same loan. My favorite part is that you can choose the specific projects that you’d like to loan to, from country, to industry, to duration of loan, etc. Overall, I love the idea of helping others help themselves and not only that, but getting repaid and being able to continuously fund loans.
Knew Health– This one is not a financial account per se, but it has helped me save a whole lot of money in health care. Knew Health offers innovative health share plans which serve as a safety net for self-pay individuals. In short, you pay in monthly premiums as you would with insurance and then are able to access telehealth, health coaching, preventative care allowances, bill negotiation services and sharing of medical costs exceeding your Initial Unsharable Amount, among other benefits. I particularly love the flexibility that come with these health share plans (you can go to any doctor or clinic anywhere, *including abroad). Using the code KHAF20 gets you 20% off the first 12 months of your subscription.
